The Weight-Loss Formula You Need to Know, Just in Time For Summer (fitsugar)

If you're counting down to a warm-weather vacation or wedding or just want to look your best for Summer, now's the time to get the weight-loss formula right. We spoke to Tracey Mallett, founder of The Booty Barre, for her simple tips on losing weight and feeling your best the smart way. Read on for her advice.
1. **Make it a mix:** Once and for all, don't avoid those weights if you want to lose weight. "The best way for people to want to lose weight is a combination of cardio and strength training activity to increase muscle mass," advises Tracey. Gaining muscle will help shrink your body even faster as you increase your metabolism. You don't even have to lift weights – these 25 body- weight exercises will sculpt muscles fast.
2. **Start slow, but be consistent:** When you're not used to a workout routine, you could be setting yourself up for burnout if you take on too much too soon. "What happens with people is that when they want to lose weight, they go, go, go, and then they overburn, and then they give up," Tracey explains. She recommends …

By "healthy", what is meant are foods which are low in saturated fat, high in fiber and dense in nutrients. These foods include vegetables (high in nutrients such as vitamins and high in fiber, which helps weight loss), lean meats (high in protein and low in saturated fat), fish (high in omega-3 fatty acids, low in saturated fat) and whole grains (low in fat, high in fiber). In addition, you must stay hydrated –drink 8 glasses of water a day.

By "exercise", what is meant are both cardiovascular exercise and strength training. Cardiovascular exercise is any exercise which makes you sweat–walking, running, bicycling, dancing, jump rope, etc.

To see noticeable results you must do 5 days of cardiovascular work a week and 3 days a week of strength training. Results are visible in about 2 to 3 weeks.

Is the kegel exercise healthy?

I'm a man and i would just want to know if its healthy? Does is make the shaft harder and make you hold on longer before you orgasm? What are the outcomes of doing this exercise (kegel) for both men and women?

The Kegel Exercise (also referred to as the Pelvic Floor Exercise) is the repetitive contraction of the pubococcygeus (PC) muscles. If you’ve ever stopped yourself from urinating midstream, then you’ve used your PC muscles. If you flex your PC muscles and hold it for 10 seconds through a series of reps then you are partaking in the Kegel exercise. Originally used for women to control incontinence (the urge to urinate all the time) and to enhance sexual responses during intercourse, the Kegel Exercise is now also being used by men.

The Kegel Exercise builds up the PC muscles, which will help men improve:

• Ejaculation Control
• Prostate Health
• Erection Firmness
• Arousal Control
• Ejaculation Strength
• Bladder Control

The Kegel Exercise: Muscle or Hustle?

Many magazines and websites swear by the Kegel exercise. After all, it’s a simple task that is easy to learn and doesn’t take long to get through the reps each day. In fact, most men can master this exercise after just the third or fourth time. Because of these reasons, the Kegel exercise is widespread throughout the sex industry.

However, most of these magazines and websites contain a disclaimer (or at least they should) – usually in very small type – stating not to overuse the Kegel exercise. Unfortunately, many readers gloss over this warning, and the hype on the Kegel ends up being more damaging than helpful. The exercise can cause premature ejaculation for some men, as well as other sexual problems.

“Many readers gloss over this warning”

The Kegel exercise has been shown to have vast improvements on the penis. But in excess, the exercise can also be very harmful. The reason is contraction of the prostate muscle triggers the prostate's sympathetic nerve to induce an ejaculation. While men tend to contract the PC muscle to assist the erection if they feel their erection is not hard enough, a long-term practice of this exercise will make the muscle develop more testosterone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and oxytocin receptors. These hormone receptors make men and women achieve an orgasm quicker and more easily, due to the presence of more hormones trapped in the sex organs. This is just fine and dandy for women who have difficulty achieving orgasm, as some do. The Kegel Exercise was originally intended for women with such problems. But for men, reaching an orgasm this quickly could be the end of their sex drive. Eventually, this problem will become the norm and that is when the diagnosis results in premature ejaculation. Simply put, doing PC exercises will make you secrete pre-come quicker and stimulate your urethra, lubricating it for ejaculation and manipulating you into ejaculating prematurely.

It’s Fallen and I Can’t Get it Up!

Some men have been practicing Kegel safely for a longtime, but others recklessly practice Kegel before reading about the damage that could come in time. It is similar to smoking; at one point nobody thought it was bad for you. Once they figured out it was extremely unhealthy, they put warnings on the packages of cigarettes. People continued to smoke away because if it was that bad for you it would have been banned. Make no mistake. Kegel exercises are different than tobacco in the sense they can be good for you in limited use. But most people just don’t understand how harmful the exercises can be.

“From a harmless aid to a detrimental condition”

Many websites and magazines that showcase the Kegel exercise also claim that performing intense Kegel exercises right after ejaculation (when your PC muscles are tired) will dramatically strengthen and tone your PC muscles in record time. If you’ve been holding back your ejaculation using the Kegel method during sex and then you used the exercise right after, then you will in turn be doubling up on your Kegel exercise. This is how a simple technique like Kegel can go from a harmless aid to a detrimental condition in no time at all. And that brief exercise right after intercourse can bring you from a moderate level all the way to abuse.

Many men have damaged their equipment through Kegel and they have no idea how to overcome the sexual dysfunctions like premature ejaculation. In order to power up your penis and get back to a normal, healthy ejaculation, it requires action from the parasympathetic nerves with the assistance of natural herbs to replenish the body’s drained sexual system. Unfortunately, more Kegel exercises won’t help you with that.

Yes eating healthy will work, but you must work out to tone your body. Even working out at home will help. Buy an exercise DVD – pilates is good for toning the body.
